Getting 70% marks in practicals in the final year to the first ranker student like Amit was indigestible for everyone where all others got more than 90%.
After the final results, the reason behind this was obvious as the first rank was grabbed by the Principal’s son outlining Amit purposely. He stood second.
Amit was initially disturbed and nervous but then went for higher studies. While he was pursuing his Ph.D., to meet his expenses he took a job at a nearby college as a lecturer. To his surprise, the same professor who took his practicals was also transferred there. Amit greeted and reminded him about the incident. He seemed nervous and awkwardly irritated.
Amit then never entered the staff room, instead went to the laboratory directly to take practicals for his students.
The days passed and Amit became very popular amongst the students as an intelligent, active, smart, and friendly professor almost of similar age group as students.
Once he came late for his class as his alarm clock stopped working at midnight. He got up late and somehow managed to run to the college. His students were talking with each other in the laboratory making some noise. The same professor was just a table away teaching his students and got disturbed. As Amit arrived he came to him and started abusing him for the in-punctual behavior in front of all the students. Amit was actually not answerable to that professor. But wanted to keep his own position intact in his student’s eyes. His urge for survival instinct got awakened, so he politely said,
” Sorry for the late Sir and disturbance caused by my students. But this is not a place where you should shout at me. Let’s go to the staff room and talk. Here we both are equal to each other as professors. You do not have any right to abuse me in front of my students. If you were getting disturbed you should have told my students and they would have listened. Please do not drag anything else here as you could have managed my students in my absence so actually, it’s you who should feel sorry for this.”
The professor just got a solid setback and went speechless. All the students gathered and congratulated Amit for his heroism. A brilliant revolt was over. Amit felt very calm.
